Redrafting the 2012 NFL Draft!

  1. Indianapolis Colts

Original Pick; Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

New Pick; Russell Wilson, QB, Wisconsin

Wilson has had a Hall of Fame worthy career while Luck peaked at being a Pro Bowl QB. Wilson is a big upgrade.

2. Washington Football Team

Original Pick; Robert Griffin lll, QB, Baylor

New Pick; Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford

RG3 was a phenomenal playmaker his rookie year but injuries ended his career.

3. Cleveland Browns

Original Pick; Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama

New Pick; Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

Kuechly was one of the smartest and hardest hitting linebackers of the 2010’s.

4. Minnesota Vikings

Original Pick; Matt Kalil, OT, USC

New Pick; Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State

Cox is still causing disruption to this day. Kalil never reached his full potential in the NFL.

5. Jacksonville Jaguars

Original Pick; Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State

New Pick; Chandler Jones, EDGE, Syracuse

Blackmon was suspended indefinitely in 2013 and was never given the opportunity to reach his full potential. Jones is a game wrecker with some of the best blitzing abilities in the league.

6. Dallas Cowboys

Original Pick; Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU

New Pick; Bobby Wagner, LB, Utah State

The Cowboys swung and missed with this pick, and with a second opportunity pick a generational talent in Wagner.

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Original Pick; Mark Barron; LB/DB, Alabama

New Pick; Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

Gilmore won a Defensive Player of the Year Award and Barron did not. One of those players is clearly better.

8. Miami Dolphins

Original Pick; Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

New Pick; Kirk Cousins, QB, Michigan State

Tannehill thrived once he left the Dolphins, the same can be said about Cousins after his stint with Washington.

9. Carolina Panthers

Original Pick; Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College

New Pick; Melvin Ingram, EDGE, South Carolina

Kuechly is off the board so the Panthers go with plan B.

10. Buffalo Bills

Original Pick; Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina

New Pick; LaVonte David, LB, Nebraska

This stellar linebacker class continues with David.

11. Kansas City Chiefs

Original Pick; Dontario Poe, DT, Memphis

New Pick; Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M

The Chiefs would no longer need to trade for Alex Smith. Instead they get a young raw talent in Tannehill.

12. Philadelphia Eagles

Original Pick; Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State

New Pick; Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina

If the Eagles can get over Norman’s attitude issues they will receive a great lockdown corner.

13. Arizona Cardinals

Original Pick; Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

New Pick; Casey Heyward, CB, Vanderbilt

Heyward has been one of the most reliable corners since his career began.

14. Los Angeles Rams

Original Pick; Michael Brockers, DT, LSU

New Pick; Akiem Hicks, DT, Regina

While Hicks isn’t the best player available he fills a massive hole on the defensive line.

15. Seattle Seahawks

Original Pick; Bruce Irvin, EDGE, West Virginia

New Pick; Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame

While Irvin did have his moments, Smith in the legion of boom would have been a sight to see.

16. New York Jets

Original Pick; Quinton Coples, EDGE, North Carolina

New Pick; Mitchell Schwartz, OT, California

The Jets always have an awful offensive line. Schwartz would be a great start to changing that.

17. Cincinnati Bengals

Original Pick; Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama

New Pick; David DeCastro, OG, Stanford

The Bengals always have an awful offensive line. DeCastro would be a great start to changing that.

18. Los Angeles Chargers

Original Pick; Melvin Ingram, EDGE, South Carolina

New Pick; Dont’a Hightower, LB, Alabama

Hightower ran over opposing teams and was a huge difference maker.

19. Chicago Bears

Original Pick; Shea McClellin, LB, Boise State

New Pick; T.Y. Hilton, WR, FIU

Hilton is a dynamic playmaker and would help the Bears offense in the passing game.

20. Tennessee Titans

Original Pick; Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor

New Pick; Olivier Vernon, EDGE, Miami

Wright was a disappointment while Vernon became a very underrated and valuable lineman.

21. New England Patriots

Original Pick; Chandler Jones; EDGE, Syracuse

New Pick; Brandon Brooks, OG, Miami Ohio

Adding to a spectacular offensive line seems to be the right move here.

22. Cleveland Browns

Original Pick; Brandon Weeden, QB, Oklahoma State

New Pick; Janoris Jenkins, CB, North Alabama

There are so many holes in this team but Jenkins patches up the secondary.

23. Detroit Lions

Original Pick; Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa

New Pick; Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin

The Lions need to do anything they can to protect a young Matthew Stafford.

24. Pittsburgh Steelers

Original Pick; David DeCastro, OG, Stanford

New Pick; Damon Harrison, DT, William Penn

A run clogging defensive lineman is always welcome.

25. New England Patriots

Original Pick; Dont’a Hightower, LB, Alabama

New Pick; Alshon Jeffrey, WR, South Carolina

Another playmaker for the Patriots is always dangerous.

26. Houston Texans

Original Pick; Whitney Mercilus, LB, Illinois

New Pick; Bruce Irvin, EDGE, West Virginia

Irvin has more of a chance to shine with the Texans.

27. Cincinnati Bengals

Original Pick; Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin

New Pick; Kelechi Osemele, OG, Iowa State

With Zeitler off the board the Bengals go with the second option. Osemele and DeCastro would be fantastic.

28. Green Bay Packers

Original Pick; Nick Perry, LB, USC

New Pick; Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis

A humungous gap filler, Poe would play well with the Packers.

29. Minnesota Vikings

Original Pick; Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame

New Pick; Whitney Mercilus, LB, Illinois

With Smith off the board the Vikings decide to take a different approach and take Mercilus.

30. San Francisco 49ers

Original Pick; A.J. Jenkins, WR, Illinois

New Pick; Vontaze Burfict, LB, Arizona State

Besides the awful attitude and constant suspensions Burfict was a solid player.

31. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Original Pick; Doug Martin, RB, Boise State

New Pick; Nick Foles, QB, Arizona

2012 was Josh Freeman’s last decent season. The Bucs should jump aboard the Foles train as soon as possible.

32. New York Giants

Original Pick; David Wilson, RB, Virginia Tech

New Pick; Doug Martin, RB, Boise State

The Giants get an upgrade at the running back position to finish off the redraft.
