2023 NFL Mock Draft 1.0!

  1. Houston Texans

Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

Bryce Young won the Heisman in 2021 and despite losing Jameson Williams to the NFL draft, he still put up fantastic numbers for Alabama. If Houston can give Young a good O-Line, then they have there QB of the future.

2. Chicago Bears

Will Anderson Jr, EDGE, Alabama

Anderson has been the best defensive player in college football the past two seasons. Chicago picks up a stud to boost there pass rush.

3. Seattle Seahawks

Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson

Seattle picks up this pick from the trade with Denver in what is looking like a huge win for Seattle. Murphy will hold down the middle and make running up the middle very tough.

4. Arizona Cardinals

Jalen Carter, DL, Georgia

Some scouts are calling Carter the best prospect of the draft. While I agree that he is a phenomenal prospect, I don’t think he brings as much value as Anderson and Murphy.

5. Indianapolis Colts

C.J. Stroud, QB, Georgia

The Colts finally pick up a QB that is capable of turning around their entire franchise. Stroud’s playmaking ability paired with Michael Pittman’s explosiveness makes the Colts very dangerous.

6. Atlanta Falcons

Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech

Wilson was unheard of before the season but a fantastic year has seen him shoot all the way to the top of the first round. Atlanta has many needs but pass rush is perhaps the biggest.

7. Detroit Lions

Kelee Ringo, CB, Georgia

Okudah and Ringo would be a scary secondary to face. Detroit is trending in the right direction and Ringo would help with that.

8. Carolina Panthers

Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

Monster. That is the first word to come to mind when talking about Johnston. He is the type of receiver hat would make any QB look good.

9. Las Vegas Raiders

Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern

Skoronski is a big dude. The Raiders are a poor performing team and giving whoever is playing QB for them next season time to throw will be great.

10. Philadelphia Eagles

Paris Johnson Jr, OT, Ohio State

Their aren’t many holes on the Eagles so it’s time to brace for the future. Johnson will be able to lead the Eagles O-line in 2-3 years.

11. Houston Texans

Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

Jalen Pitre was a home run and Derek Stingley Jr is a lockdown corner. Gonzalez will be able to hold down the other side of he field.

12. Seattle Seahawks

Joey Porter Jr, CB, Penn State

Porter Jr is the first step to creating the legion of boom 2.0. Joey performed very well against some of the best receivers in all of the Big 10. His transition to the NFL should be seamless.

13. Tennessee Titans

Jordan Addison, WR, USC

Trading away AJ Brown was a mistake and that is obvious. Addison will be the perfect replacement.

14. New England Patriots

Trenton Simpson, LB, Oregon

The Patriots are in desperate need of a player with a great motor and Simpson is exactly that player. Simpson and Judon will make a deadly duo.

15. New York Jets

Michael Mayer, TE, Notre Dame

What is the best way to find out if a young QB is a bust? Give him the best targets in the NFL and if he doesn’t do well then throw him to the curb and tank for Caleb Williams.

16. Pittsburgh Steelers

Cam Smith, CB, South Carolina

The Steelers have used there 1st and 2nd round selections on offensive players for the past two years and it is time to focus on the defensive side of the ball. Smith was one of the best corners in the SEC which is impressive considering how pass-heavy the SEC is. He fits into the Pittsburgh defense perfectly.

17. Green Bay Packers

Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

Aaron Rodgers is getting up there in age and time is running out for a Super Bowel run. Jaxon is the type of weapon that Rodgers needs to put monster amount of points up.

18. Detroit Lions

Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson

The Lions land an absolute steal picking up Bresee this late in the draft. Hutchinson and Bresee on the D-line will terrorize opposing defenses for the next decade.

19. Jacksonville Jaguars

Brian Branch, S, Alabama

Possibly the best scheme fit of the entire draft, Branch will transition to the NFL beautifully and playing for the Jags won’t hurt.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Anthony Richardson, QB, Florida

Transitioning from a pocket passer like Brady to a dual-threat like Richardson will be very interesting for Tampa Bay. Richardson’s running ability brings a whole new level to this Buccaneers offense.

21. Washington Commanders

Broderick Jones, OT, Georgia

There is a very good chance that Washington will have a new QB under center next season. That QB will need protection and Jones is built like an absolute tank.

22. New York Giants

Noah Sewell, LB, Oregon

Noah’s draft stock has fallen since the beginning of the year but he is still worth a first round pick. It will be interesting to see how his game translates to the NFL.

23. Los Angeles Chargers

Jared Verse, EDGE, Florida State

Khalil Mack is getting up there in age and the Chargers have to reload. Mack will be a great teacher for the raw pass-rusher Verse.

24. Baltimore Ravens

Isaiah Foskey, EDGE, Notre Dame

The Ravens have two needs, wide receiver and pass rush. They can solve one of those problems with the Notre Dame product.

25. Denver Broncos

Nolan Smith, EDGE, Georgia

This impressive class of edge rushers continues with Nolan Smith. Smith might be higher on thus list if it weren’t for his injury.

26. Dallas Cowboys

Devon Witherspoon, CB, Illinois

Adding a lockdown corner to the same secondary that has the best ballhawk in the league gives Dallas a dangerous secondary.

27. Cincinnati Bengals

O’Cyrus Torrence, OG, Florida

The Bengals spent big bucks to bolster there O-line over the offseason and it didn’t work to the extent that they were hoping. Torrence will join the Bengals with day 1 starting potential.

28. Kansas City Chiefs

Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

What could Patrick Mahomes need to get the best offense in the NFL? The best RB prospect since Saquon Barkley. Robinson will make the Chiefs offense even more explosive.

29. Minnesota Vikings

Anton Harrison, OT, Oklahoma

Getting towards the end of the first round Minnesota reaches just a bit. They don’t need anybody to come in and start day 1 so they opt to plan for the future with Harrison.

30. Buffalo Bills

Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama

Josh Allen is one of the best QB’s in the league and the Bills have done a great job protecting him and giving him all the weapons he needs to succeed. Gibbs will bring electricity out of the backfield and is a great receiving back.

31. Philadelphia Eagles

Antonio Johnson, S, Texas A&M

The Eagles fill their only glaring need at safety. Johnson has great coverage ability and can be used as a corner as well as safety.
