Defense
10. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs D-line is solid with veteran Ndamukong Suh and rising star Vita Vea, but the linebacker position is where it gets interesting. The Bucs have veterans Jason Pierre-Paul and Lavonte David along with young playmakers Devin White and Shaq Barrett who led the league in sacks last season. The only problem with the Bucs defence is they have very young inexperienced DB’s.
9. Seattle Seahawks
This Seattle team probably would have been ranked higher but the D-line led by L.J. Collier is less than impressive.
8. Chicago Bears
With arguably the best group of linebackers in the NFL the Bears have to be included. Not to mention a pair of elite DB’s in Eddie Jackson and Kyle Fuller. And I can’t leave out the man that anchors the D-line, Akiem Hicks.
7. New England Patriots
What New England lacks in linebacker strength they make up for in DB’s, Stephon Gilmore and the McCourty brothers make up one of the best secondaries in the league.
6. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers secondary is STACKED. Casey Hayward Jr, Nasir Adderley, Chris Harris Jr, Desmond King, Alohi Gilman, and an injured Derwin James make up one the best secondaries I have ever seen. Don’t forget the duo of elite pass rushers Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram.
5. New Orleans Saints
The Saints are strong everywhere except linebacker. The D-line led by Cameron Jordan is dominant and the secondary led by Marshon Lattimore is highly underrated.
4. Buffalo Bills
Buffalo has an ELITE secondary. The only team that has a better secondary [when healthy] is the Chargers. Rising star Tre’Davious White is one of the best DB’s in the NFL.
3. Baltimore Ravens
Although the Ravens don’t have the best team on paper they still have one of the best, most underrated defenses in the league The Ravens have a veteran D-line with Calais Campbell and Derek Wolfe and a productive LB in Matthew Judon. Pairing veterans with young star Marlon Humphrey along with rookie Patrick Queen the Ravens defense is stacked.
2. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers took many hits on Sunday with season ending injuries to Nick Bosa, Solomon Thomas, and Richard Sherman. The Niners still have tons of underrated stars. The Niners LB corp is the most underrated yet productive in the league. Fred Warner and Kwon Alexander have quietly been dominating the NFL. The secondary led by Jimmie Ward is also scary. The 49ers are still going to be one of the best defences in the league despite injuries.
1.Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers defense is one of the most talented I have ever seen. The D-line led by Cam Heyward is just scary. The secondary led by rising star Minkah Fitzpatrick and Joe Haden combined for ten interceptions [five each] last season. The linebacker position is where the Steelers are most talented, T.J. Watt who currently leads the NFL in sacks and Devin Bush make one heck of a young LB corp, don’t forget Bud Dupree who has been the looked-over star of the Steelers defence.
Offense
10. Cleveland Browns
The Cleveland Browns are not as good as they should be. That sums up the entire Cleveland team [except Nick Chubb]. Baker Mayfield was a 1st overall pick, he was picked over reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and Bills QB Josh Allen who has just played better football. Odell Beckham Jr. hasn’t played good since he last played with the Giants and Jarvis Landry has disappointed literally everybody while in a Browns jersey. The Browns are still talented and the addition of Austin Hooper can only help.
9. Tennessee Titans
Tennessee’s playoff run was thanks to Derrick Henry, so I don’t understand why the Titans gave Ryan Tannehill that big of a contract. A.J. Brown is definitely underrated and former 1st round pick Corey Davis has been an all around disappointment. Other than that the Titans have an offence loaded with weapons and I expect big things from them this year.
8. San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have arguably the best O-line in the NFL, and adding Trent Williams helped that statement. The Niners don’t have any star WR’s but George Kittle evens that factor out. The 49ers are a run heavy team with RB’s Raheem Mostert, Jerick McKinnon, and Tevin Coleman.
7. Arizona Cardinals
Arizona has the most underrated offence. QB Kyler Murray will have a breakout 2020 season with the addition of DeAndre Hopkins. Though the Cardinals are weak in the TE position, they have a very underrated RB in Kenyan Drake. The Cardinals could sneak into the sixth or seventh seed this year.
6. Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson is off to a MVP worthy start of the season. DK Metcalf has emerged as a star and Tyler Lockett is still playing good. Chris Carson is a reliable RB who can take some pressure off of the passing game along with Seattle’s top ten defence the Seahawks are Super Bowl contenders.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Although Tom Brady is no longer an elite QB he still has plenty of offensive threats. The RB duo of Ronald Jones and Leonard Fournette has the potential to be deadly. Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Scotty Miller is quite the trio and add Rob Gronkowski to block and for underneath routes the Bucs are a force to be reckoned with.
4. Dallas Cowboys
If Dak Prescott plays good the Cowboys will be hard to stop. Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and rookie CeeDee Lamb are a speedy trio. Ezekiel Elliott is a powerful RB. The only problem with this offence is they don’t have an elite TE.
3. New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees like Tom Brady is old and not playing at an elite level. Alvin Kamara is an absolute beast. Michael Thomas when healthy, is the best WR in the league. Jared Cook is a deadly red zone threat. As long as the injury bug stays away, the Saints have the best offence in the NFC.
2. Baltimore Ravens
Reigning MVP Lamar Jackson can do it all, he can expose defences on the ground or in the air, we have never seen a dual-threat QB dominate like him. Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins make up a versatile duo and Mark Andrews is a very underrated TE. The Ravens don’t have great depth at WR but Marquise Brown and Willie Snead can carry the load.
1. Kansas City Chiefs
It’s hard to argue against this stacked Chiefs offence. Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the league and he has a deadly WR corp. Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Demarcus Robinson, and Mecole Hardman along with TE Travis Kelce make up the best offence in the league. Oh and I forgot to mention RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire who has potential to be one of the best RB’s in the league.
